Daycation to Harrison Hills Park and Capri Restaurant

Andre and I spend a lot of times outdoors hiking, biking, running, and kayaking. At the end of April, we had a perfect weather day, so we decided to spend it outside. We wanted to go somewhere different than usual, but still close by. We chose Harrison Hills Park in Natrona Heights, PA.

The park has several different trails of varying lengths. We chose to do the Scouts Trail, which was a five mile loop. This trail hit all the beautiful sites in the park from deep woods to the river to wetlands. We also saw animal life, such as ducks with ducklings, deer, vultures, and a snake. Aside from the length, which some may not want to commit to, I would list it as an easy hike.

In addition to hiking, this park has soccer and baseball fields, playgrounds, and pavilions. There are accessible restrooms throughout the trail. You can also mountain bike on the trail.

A great spot to cool off!

After a five mile hike, we needed carbs! It was a quick five minute drive to Capri Restaurant. It was bomb! The portions were huge and satisfying (enough for a second meal the next day). It is also reasonably priced. We started off with the bruschetta to share. They typically serve it cold, but we asked if it could be heated and they happily heated it up for us. Being an Italian restaurant, they brought delicious bread over to munch on while we waited. I got the stuffed shells with marinara sauce. Their marinara sauce is so sweet. Yum! The desserts sounded amazing,  but we were too full to even think about it. Good food and friendly servers… definitely worth a visit!
