Pennsylvania Christmas fun continued with a trip to Kraynak’s Christmasland in Hermitage, PA then a trip to see a large Christmas light display at Butler Fairgrounds by Shadrack’s Christmas Wonderland.
Hermitage is home to Kraynak’s Christmasland, a large lawn and garden store, and Daffin’s Candies. Kraynak’s is home to a huge Christmas tree display every holiday season. The trees are decorated perfectly with all kinds of themes. There is no admission charge to walk through the indoor display. Kraynak’s is a great stop for decorating items too! There are rooms and rooms filled with Christmas trees, indoor decorations, outdoor decorations, ornaments, and stockings. After Kraynak’s, we drove about ten minutes down to Daffin’s Candies to load up on sugary treats! Their chocolate is so delicious!! In the back, they have a room with sculptures made of chocolate.
We timed our trip so that we got to the Christmas light display around the time it opened. The Pittsburgh area has been hurting for a good Christmas light display since our beloved Hartwood Acres display discontinued their display. This year was the first year that the Butler Fairgrounds hosted Shadrack’s Christmas Wonderland. The cost was $25 per car, which was reasonable considering the amount of work it took to prepare this display. The lights in the first half are synchronized with the music playing through their radio channel, which was really cool. You will see this in the videos below. They aren’t the best quality due to my GoPro not recording that great at night. However, there are many other videos on YouTube to look up, if you want a better idea. The second half was the fun display with reindeer playing games, Santa on a jet ski, etc. This year Shadrack’s was in six different locations. Keep them in mind for the 2016 holiday season if they are in a city near you! 🙂
